FAQs
FAQs
Does the lock come with a cylinder?
No. Both locks come without one. You'll need a Whitco lazy cam cylinder, and our Pin Cylinder and Wafer Cylinder both fit.
Pin or wafer cylinder: which do I need?
Both fit the Whitco Leichhardt, Tasman and Tasman Escape locks. The wafer cylinder is shorter, so it suits narrow sliding screen doors where a longer cylinder could hit your main door lock. The pin cylinder can be keyed to match your other Whitco locks.
Will the lock fit my screen door?
It fits the industry standard cut-out and suits standard 20 mm thick doors. It's reversible, so it works whichever way your door is hung. It can be used as a single or multi-point lock.
Can it use the same key as my other Whitco locks?
Yes, with the pin cylinder. It can be keyed alike to other Whitco 5-pin C4 cylinder locks. Give us a call.
How does it lock?
It latches by itself when the door shuts. Inside, a snib locks and unlocks the handles. Outside, the key does. The key always overrides the snib.
How many keys come with the cylinder?
Two keys come with each cylinder.
Can you fit it for me?
Yes. Give us a call to book a locksmith.
