Will it work with my garage door opener?

Check “Suits” and “Compatible remotes” under Specifications against the brand and model on your motor or your old remote. If yours isn't listed or you're not sure, call us and we'll check it for you.

Is it a genuine remote?

Remotes sold under the opener's brand, such as Merlin, ATA, B&D or Centurion, are genuine. Our SGT and JMA remotes are aftermarket alternatives made to work with the openers listed under Specifications.

What battery does it take?

A battery comes with every remote, and in some it's already fitted. The type is listed under Specifications. If it uses a coin battery, keep the remote and spare batteries away from children.

How do I set it up with my opener?

Instructions are in the guide on this page. If you're local, we can come out and program it for you. A service call charge applies. Outside our area, a garage door technician near you can do it.

What if it doesn't suit my opener?

You can return it within 30 days, unused and in its original packaging. If the remote matches its description but doesn't suit your opener, a 35% restocking fee applies. Shipping costs aren't refunded.
